The principal hnsiness of tin- meeting was l.ho discussion of the iiiei-eased rates. With the exeeptionof tin-.mint-ine business and an excursion in liclfast by the City of London yester- ilny afternoon this discussion occupied the enllrc time of the_ delegates; 'i‘hc outcome was the unanimous pni.'s-ing lust- night of the following ri,-suliit-Ion :- ~ \\'liei-cas widespread dissatisfaction has in-i-ii unused particularly in the case of‘ thc elder members--a dissatisfaction which has ‘already had n disastrous eifect ami threatens to disrupt the Order which many of the older members have been inr;;cly instrumental in building up ilcsolvcd that the Supremo Council he naked at its special session to be held slim-ti.V to reconsider- and rescind its ut-tion as to dates and adopt a scale either in u<~i-ordnncc with option A, but on ages :is.s<-ss-eil and not attained, from 21 to l'4, nr.-is ncnr this`soale `|is found by com- pelt-iit nctuuries and the Supreme Conntir ta be siillleient. Bl air, Amherst Also representative to thc Supreme Coiiiicil. Gi-iiniiQEi‘d3EE Although the wentherconditions yester- day werc not ideal for the rlfiemcn, the se- eond dny's meeting of the Provincial Rifle Association was equal in success to that of the first. 'l‘hc shooting began with the ‘second stage of the Weeks match at 050 yards. During the early morning the cun- ditlons were good and high scores were much in evidence. Here Capt. Pwwse of No. l C. A., inndc a possible of 35 and won the match with thc excellent score of07nt the two range.-». Several other high scores were made in the second stage. By 10.21), however, conditions became unfavorable. The wind changed to what the riiicmcn cali-a pu|l`y front "fish-tail" which varied from 2 lioii degrees left to right and vice versa-the most puzzling wind for thc mnrksman. The results was that in the closing hour of the second stage poor score:-i were made. The Prowse match begun at noon and at seven o’clock the first two stages nt 200 and 5€J yards were concluded. Capt .L M. Jones of Bisley fume was then lending by nclose margin, with a number of other rilicmcn well up. At the 500 yard range- shot late in the iiftcrnoon-exceptionally' high scores were made, Lt. Col. Davison, C. A. leading oll` with the excellent score of 155-a possible. The third stage of the Prowse match will bc flrcd this morning commencing at 8 o‘clock sharp and the conclusion will doubtless hc interesting. The Corporation match will follow, also the Consolation match for those who have not won ii. prize in the former matches. The day will conclude with the Ladies Challenge Match, in which the Dil highesr.:riilemen in the aggregate will represent the 3tl_ladles who contribut- ed to the Trophy. Lieut. Governor Mac- Kinnon, Ilon Geo. l'l. Ilnghes, and Hon S. E. Reid, were interested spectators dur- ing part of the shooting nt the second stage-(500 yards) of the Prowsc Match. The only complaint heard from the rillcmen-and it is an unanimous one-is that the number ot targets supplied is not adequate for the number of r|flc~ men and that the range is not sufficiently large to enable the matches to conclude comfortably in thc three days allowed for the meeting. This, it is contended, could easily be rectified by the Militia depart- ment. 'l‘hc following arc yesterdays scores 1- NVEEKS HZ CO'S MATCH. Messrs.
