Rdward Me- Glynn, D. D., formerly pastor of St. Stephen’s Church, New York city, lecture on “The Public Schools and Their Enacmies.” Fr. McGlynn on rising was loudly ap- plauded. He thanked Dr. Thomas for his friendly words and the audience for its warm welcome. He began by saying that if there were any in the audience who had come there in the hope of hearing him re- vile or calumiate the Catholic religion, or to see him pose before them as *‘a convert- ed priest,” they were going to be disap- pointed. He was as much a Catholic to- day as he ever was, notwithstanding his suspension from the priesthood. — His quarrel was not with the religion, but it was with certain high offizials of the chureh, with whom he was at variance on some 1in- portant points.—- Worcester Times. a — ee DIED.
