A near disastrous fire occurred st the home of Mr. Glen Penrdon, Montague, when the roof caught fire from sparks from the flue. Mr. Peardon at the time was work- ing in the barn when he noticed smoke on the roof of the house. Calling to his field helpers, Mr. Peardon rushed to the buildinil and raised a ladder. The fire had caught at three or four places which were rapidly burning.
