Moore. ete Parn Destrorep.—The Halifax Herald reports that Alexander McDonald, of Arasaig, suffered the destruction of his barn, with all its contents, including his crops for this season, under every peculiar circumstances. Mr. McDonald was en- deavouring to hang tbe barn door, and the auger with which he was making a hole in the post for a bolt was too small. He, therefore, heated the bolt and drove it into the wood, causing a tire, which immediate- ly communicated with the hay and de- stroyed the building and contents. _—_— er Syarxey Gets tHe Decision.—Accord- ing toa despatch from San Franeisco, Tom Sharkey has won another question- able battle, his victim this time being old Joe Goddard. The fight, which was scheduled for 20 rovinds, terminated in the sixth when Sharkey, efter landing a ewift right on Goddard's jaw, rushed at his maa and knocked him to the floor, literally by force of impact, falling heavily upon him. Goddard’s head struci: the canvas, which dazed him. He arose at the end of three seconds and staggered to the ropes.
