We're writ- ing this last Thursday (from when you read this). Bernie Mullally died this morning. It mums. \ When one of your favorite people dies, it hits home. Mul- lally was one of ours, and it does. There's a gap around here now. We remember Bernie with a smile. It's only fitting. He was always up. Always argrin and a wisecrack. _ Somebody who would give you a ride from one end of the campus to the other in the po- licemobile when it was so cold you didn't think you could take another step. Somebody who'd stop in to the gym when you were playing basketball, and have you rol- ling on the floor laughing ' while he analyzed your play. "PROPOSALS" CON'T FROM PG.7 (And you were sure he'd never touched a basketball before‘ in his life, until he'd take a shot from the corner and swish it. And then walk out without cracking a smile .) ‘ The kind of guy who'd alp ways give you a break. You needed a door opened? Any door on campus. He'd walk from one end of the campus to the other just to open a lousy door for you. . It's pouring rain, and you need a ride into town. You see Mullally just getting off duty. And it's HIM that ASKS IOU if you need a ride into town. And then goes way out of his way to drop you off at the door._ There should be more like him. The guy with tho worst jokes in the world. But you end up splitting your sides after he told one — thinking about the kick he looked like he was getting from telling you. nirvana... When you were down, there was nobody you'd rather see than Mullally coming around the corner. He'd give you a grin and a wisecrack, and things _ would begin to brighten up. And he was never too busy to stop and talk. Never. ' ‘ He wasn't all business, as many in his profession would be. One of the tags to hang on thiwaaFUN.Irlmfllalhrwmnflt fun, then nobody is. You could always poke fun at Mullally. And he got as big a kick out of item anybody. . As we said before, we'll mis 8 him. There's a lot more missing around here now than a security cop. The general B.A. Deg- ree (with g9 concentration) For a general B.A. degree, the student will present 20 "Papers", of which not more than 3 will be from McMaster University go???
