He referred to the death of the late member, Mr. James Rich- ards, and announced that the meeting was lo appoint a candidate to till his place. A Resolution of condolence to the family of the late Mr. Richards was_read by Mr. \V. B. Hayes, of Eller- slie and was unanimously adopted. The name of Mr. John Richards was then presented to the Convention as the candidate to contest the next Dominion election and he was chosen by the unanimous vote of the conven- tion. Mr. Richards replied in a. short speech thanking the delegates for the nomination, also the kindly references made by the chairman to the death of his father, the late Capt. Wm. Rich- ards, and for the letter of condolence James Richards. At the afternoon meeting the convention was addressed by Mr. J. J.
