Funeral Tues day at 2 o'clock 'from` Tier sisters" DYSPEPSIA desire of the fur farmer to produce a higher grade of pelts each year. The final Auction Sales of 1928 will be held in November, and then nnal results on conditions will be available. From reports gathered during 1928 furriers are quite firm in their opinion and views with regards to what the fur trade requires. It is agreed that the desirable type of pelt must have quantity cf fur as well as quality and with outstand- ing clearness of color. The fur trade are anxious to lm- press upon the fur farmers not to pelt too early in the season. En- deavor to grow the fur and have the pelt prime, both on the fur side and on the pelt side. Blue-pelt- ed skins must be avoided if fur far- mers are anxious to have their pelts in demand. It is, therefore, very essential that this season we should have skins prime and avoid the blue-pelted skins. We will be buying furs as usual, but we have been wamed to avoid blue-pelted skins, because they lack the growth of underfur that holds up the giliird hair, which is so es- sential to make a full pelt. We would. therefore, urge upon the people to endeavor to hold their foxes back until the skin is prime This will be an advantage to the farmer in price as well as to the trade and the future oi’ the business. From present weather conditions it looks like an open fall. There4 fore, no pelting should take place until the last week, at least, in Nc- vember. From time to time we will give you information. all kind friends who bestowed sym- l ll other omcials. so that the whole matter might be discussed. The Chairman was of the opin- ion that the present car ferry had been satisfactory as an ice breaker, but fifty feet of additional length might make a great difference in that respect. Mr. Justice Arsenault replied that according to the men the car fer- ry has not been as satisfactory an foe boat as the Earl Grey. The Chairman: "She gave pretty good service; but I think the ex- tra flfty feet might change that al- together.” Mr. JcnZ:ins,` NL P. Mr. R. H. Jenkins, M. P., was asked for his opinion. Mr. Jenkins replied that he had no very late information. “As .I intimated some time ago." he said. “I met the chief engineer in Mont- real and he stated they were as- sembling information at that time and were quite willing to hear ev- eiybody in the matter; to take any s ggestions; and if they were wor- thy they would be considered. Since that time, however, they have been down to the Capes and, I under- stand, have met the Captain and some other parties there, and ga- thered all the information thuy possibly could. I presume these men will be guided largely by the evidence they have taken and what they consider to be in the best in- terests of all concerned. It is very hard for a man who is not a technical man, like myself, or for the Board of Trade, to ad- vise the Government what they should do." Mr. R. E. Mutch: “You can read- ily understand, however, that the Government would be more inclin- ed to build a boat that would suit the present docks.” and work it out in detail It is im- orities at Montreal are quite will- tice before calling for tenders for a ~ A bo t _°‘ ~ Sea View. thus express gratitude to ali.
