Dear Editor: It seems once again the residence students are get- ting the short end of the stick. As of late today, Sun- day Feb. 7/88 the parking lot opposite Blanchard Hall had the moved from where the cars has not snow re- have been parked. there has been plenty of opportunity to go into the lot with a snow blower and clean the large areas still snow bound. In- stead all the parking lots that would “not” be filled with cars on Sat. were plowed. The parking lot in ques- tion is the only one where over night parking is permit- ted, its nice to know where the priority lies around this university. Have you noticed the professors parking lot has been plowed, Another aues- tion of priority is the loca- tion of the overnight parking area. the explaination for the one beside Blanchard Hall is to help in the snow removal— everywhere else but in the selected area, it would seem. The present area occupied by cars parked overnight would be the same whether the cars were in the lot closest to Duffy or down by Blan- chard. So much for common sense. If you are not pleased with the parking situation— do something about it. As well, T notice that the administration has not pub- = ee 5:00pm. lically responed to the edito- rial a while back about the snow removal. I guess its time to contact the Safety Commision, the Society for Disabled and the CBC to tell them about the lack of con- cern and politeness in not: answering editorials, here at UPEI, so that everyone can - contact those in authority at upei and see where the apa- thy lies. It sounds like the administration is playing a say nothing and hope it goes away. policy. Well it won’t!!!! ---Apparent Second Class Car Parker Editor: Why bre the mainte- nance workers on this cam- pus so imcompetent? “Why is everything they do half- arse? They have a big, new Massey tractor with snowblower and a loader but never use the blower. The blower would make an excellent job of clearing the snow but the fools use the loader which makes a hell of a mess. Walk into any building on campus and right by the door is a big puddle of mud which has been tracked in. Some idiot, has destroyed the concrete park bench over by Memorial Hall. They can’t even do a decent job of clearing the parking lots. There is never less than four inches of slush in the parking lots. Many people get their feet wet walking through it and some people get splashed by people driving by. I had to leave in a bit of a hurry a few days ago and I went out to the parking lot and I found that some S.O.B. had dumped four feet of snow in front of my car. I’m sure they could have found other places to put the snow. I saw that there are chunks of ashphalt curb on ‘top of the piles of snow and there are numerous places around campus where they have left the walkways and tore the sod all up. I have quite a bit of ex- perience at snow removal and I know that it is possible to do a better job than what Maintenance has been doing. I want to see it done right from now on and I’m sure that everyone else feels the same way. Disgusted TSE THE | ‘missions and submissions on computer disk or journalists in heat.
