The Canada Temperance Act is pro- claimed in force in the County of Hants. The deposits in the Post Office Savings Bank for October amounted te $550,880 and withdrawals $239,670. ‘The balance at the credit of depositors on Oct. 3lst was $7.196,373. The total value of goods exported from the Dominion during October was $13,628, - 513, of which $13,163,831 was the produce of Canada. Proceedings at the forthcoming Assizes are anticipated with extraordinary interest. It is reported the Crown Council has been instructed to put forward early all cases of Agrarian crime in which evidence is per- fectly clear, and that in the event of ac- quittals or disagreements in those cases, the Crown Counse! are to apply for adjourn- ment of Assizes, pending legislation, which would take the form of appointinent of a tribunal, consisting of the Chairman of Quarter Sessions and three Stipendiary Magistrates, with full power to try summar- ily all offences except murder. Vienna, Nov. 27. Colliers in Ostran coal mines, belonging to the Northern Railway, the largest mines in Austria, are on a strike.
