Let's Talk It Over U "I' A recent news item had it that a group of teachers on Prince Edward Island have gone on record as in favor of being paid in twelve monthly installments. instead of too. as at present. This would mean. we presume. that teachers would be paid only five-slxths of their annual salary by the end of June. and would get the gum- slxth in two equal installments at the end of July and of August. As a fellow teacher. we'd like to propose an alternative scheme. Say a teacher is now getting 8100 per month front the government. Under this new pi posed method of payment they would get roughly "d only 583 per month. and the extra 317 would be kept each month for the two -':ld-summer payments. Now. Mr. and Miss Teacher. why not take that 317 yourself and. since you apparently need only 333. put it each month under the floor in the sun-porch. But perhaps you are boarding some place where the house owners would object to tear- ing up the floor for this purpose. All right than. take the :17 out and hide it under a rock in the orchard. A sort of "rock and roll" arrange- ment. 'l'her'e are no rocks in the orchard? Well. is that any reason to throw up your hands and call it quits? be resourceful. Take the .817 down to the bush and cache 'it under a tree, making sure you lhlaze the tree so that you will lknow where to bury the oecond monthly ' stallment. This would give the whole undertaking a do- lightful "Captain Kidd" atmos- phere It' seems to us a buck in the suddenlyovarwhelmedbyadaira townatcyourlubatanceinriotuon: or ever meet with some . members 3 In Accident Al" R.
