Mr. Fulton in the course of his remarks dealt with the Renaissance period of the early 18th century, when the famous Erasmus visited the universities of England and was received with scclsmation. The teachings of this eminent scholar were brought to the notice of Hugh Latimer by Thomas Bilney, who accepted the new teaching. The text that was instrumental in bring- ing both of these men to the iight was "This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptatlon, that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief.
