A profemionsl musician of long standing, Sergeant Ford was trumpet soloist with the Central Air Command band that has visited Summerside on several occasions. prior to his transfer November. During the war music took second place as Ford enlisted with the Irish Regiment of Canada in 1940 and later transferred to the RCAF. As a wireless air gunner he saw service with RAF‘ squadrons in the Far East and Europe. With the war over Ford reverted. at his own request, from the rank of Flight Sergeant to Leading Aircraftsmaii so that he could become it member of the l-'tCAl<"s Central Band under the direction of Flying Officer Cliff here last Hunt. His rise in the band is well understood when one learns that in addition to his trumpet work Sergeant Ford did musical arrang- ing for the band and for the Tor- onto Mendelssohn choir of CBC fame.
