Their plan is to take a light two-wheeled truck, upon the front of which a box, with an open forward end, is erected. A man wheels this up and down the field, the same as a field is rolled, | while upon each side of the apparatus is a | line of women and children who, with switches. drive the hoppers in front of the truck, and as it comes along most of them jump into the box. On Monday last, Mr. David Murdock, Cariboo, discovered great numbers in hi» wheat field busily devouring the tender wheat. The field in which they made their appearance |is of about two acres in area, and the | worms stayed there till Thursday, when, having eaten all in their way, they dissap~ | peared into a potato field. Where they | came from, or where they dissappeared to, is a mystery. Asingular | fact is that they were not seen elsewhere, | none having been seen on the adjoining | farms.—S/andard. The hosts were seen to fly over | the town and across the river to the Turk- | ish bank, where they alighted n_ first | passing Galatz the grasshopper cloud was ‘estimated to be from three to four miles wide and about 15 miles long, taking five | hours in flying across. A few days later the locusts moved down the river, having pretty | well stripped the neighborhood where they ‘first alighted. The inhabitants of the ‘threatened districts are kept hard at work | with pots and pans and other instruments | of noise and discord, endeavouring to pre- ‘vent the insects from alighting on the ‘ground. JOHN NEWSON, Jan. 18, 1875. ly eow NO FAILURE! eI Physicians Cornered. ee a there are few circumstances under which a physician labors with more real sympathy for lis patieat than when called upon to administer relief to an acute sufferer with Chronic Rheumatism. Rheumatism is a disease of the blood, and no substantial relief cau be obtained without clean- ing the blood from the fibrim substances which obstruct the circulation, causing ioflammation and pain. The greatest success of the DIAMOND RHEU- MATIC CURE in curing this disease is owing to its power of converting the blood from its dis- eased condition toa healthy circulation. Italso reguiates the howels, which is very essential in this complaint, 2nd no one will read the follow- ing statement, from a well-known Dartmouth gentleman, with more interest and pleasure than those physicians who have a real desire to benefit their suffering patients -; DarrMouri, Sept. 14, 1874, Forsytu & Co., Gentlemen :—For the two past years I have been severely troubled with Rheumatism. I have suffered the most acute pain, and at times I have been rendered periectly helpless—being unable to walk, sleep or even sit up. I have tried maay physicianz and used numerous patent medicines, but I still continued to giow worse. It is now about four days since I commenced taking the DIAMOND RHEUMATIC CURE, and the pain has all left me, and the use of my limbs is rapid- ly returning. I bless the day that the Diamond Rheumatic Cure was called to my attention. Gratefully yours, Wa. BRODIE FURTHER PROOF, Hauiax, Sept, 19, 1874. Forsy7n & Co., Gentlemen :—I wish to make known to all sufferers from Rheumatism in Halifax, that I, the undersigned, suffered the most terrible pains possible to imagine, for two years past. I have tried several physicians in this city, and paid them most of my means for prescriptions, but all ot no avail. Ihave now taken the DIAMOND RHEUMATIC CURE for a week past, and I can truthfully say that it has done me more good than’anything I have ever taken. I cordially recommen it to all afflicted humanity, Truly yours, ALAM HANNIGAN, Lower Water Street. The proprictor of this has walked the aisles of the hospitals of London, Eng, for the past twenty ycars, makiog Rheumatism a speciality and the prescriptions trom which the remedy is compounded is all he ever used in the treatment of this disease. In simple cases sometimes one or two does suffice. In the most chronic cases it is sure to give way by the use of three or four bottles. By this eflicient and simple remedy hundreds of dol- lars are saved by those who can least afford to throw it away, as surely it is by the purchase of useless prescriptions. This medicine is prepared by a careful experi- enced and conscientious physician, in obedience to the desire of numberless friends in the profes- sion iu the trade and among the people. Eve bottle is warranted to contain the full strengt of the Medicine in its highest state of purity and development and is superior to any medicine ever compounded for this terrible complaint. It is for sale at all Druggists throughout Canada. [fit happens that your Druggist has not got it in stock, ask him to send for it to, W.kR.
