There were 13 deaths from Cholera among the British troops in Egypt on Sun- day, for last twelve hours there were only 30 deaths in Cairo. There were nine deaths in Alexandria on Sunday. The deaths from cholera in Egypt on Monday were 598 in number, including seventy-eight at Cairo. The Gladstone Government Sus- tained. A motion made by a leading Conservative attacking the policy of the Government with reference to South Africa, was defeat- ed in the Commons yesterday. Gladstone announced that the troops in Egypt weuld be withdrawn as soon as stapie Government was established. He disavowed the idea of permanent occupa- tion. | The Telegraph Strike.
