A NARROW ESCAPE.- On Satur- day morning, Mr. Peter Stewart of Royalty met with a serious accident. \\-'hile doing business at the Char- lottetown Condensed Milk Co‘s fac- tory ile left his horse attached to fx sleighload of coal, standing in front of the office. The horse howcvcr thought othcwisc and started off towards thc railway crossing and in its haste collided with the engine of thc train which was passing at the time. The horse was thrown some dis- tance into the brlar bushes, while the sleigh was completely demolished. the ton of coal scattering in all direc- tions. The animal was not killed or cut outwardly but the damages could not be ascertained at the time of thc accident as it is fcarcd the poor brute was injured internally. A peculiar in- cident was that a. jar of molasses al- so on the sleigh was not hurt in any way although thrown a long distance. On the morning of the 7th lust.. there passed peacefully away at Chelton, Penzic, the little 14 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs, John Rose, after a. lingering illness. She was ever patient, loving and true, presistent, never mindful of her own pleasures in doing things which ad- ded to the happiness of others, so when Jesus called hcr home she willingly abandoned all earthly hopes to be with Him. Although the teuderest lovs and care was bestowed on her, it proved to 'o avail. for a greater love than a par- ents was awaiting hor beyond. Bo- sides bereaved parents, one brother and live sisters, there are left many relatives and friends to mourn her loss. The funeral services was con ducted by Rev. Geo. Ayers, her favorite hymn.
