Deceased was a na- tive of Bathurst, N. B., and was eighty-two years of age. He came to th-is Province about 56 years ago, locating in Summerside where ha successfully conducted a canning business up to about dfteen years ago. When he retired his son Thomas took charge of the business. l-le was married in 1853 to Elizabeth Dawson of Tryon, who predeceased him about nine months. He leaves to mourn three sons 2-J.
