The ornaments illustrate both the skill of the ancient Jewell smiths and the trend of style which the royaliadics followed. A third example oi Babylonian craftsmanship is intricate. it is a llarge gold earring an inch and three quarters long. From a gold wire loop attached to the ear lobe dcpcncls a lunate ornament decor- ated with three rows oi tiny‘ lit- tlc 1wcarls. Below this is a. fluted ball fastened to a plain collar de- corated around thc base with the small pearl motiif.
