There was a time when starring on Broadway was the ambition of Frances Eileen Hutt. But when she met young Tom Dewey at a sing- forgot about that. When she mar- ried him in 1928, the only career she thought of was that of wife and mother. New her husband. governor of New York State. is Republican candidate for the presidency, for the second time. Mrs. Dewey was born in Sher- man, Texas, in 1903. but her fam- ily moved to Sapula, Okla. shortly after. They still live there. From early girlhood she studied singing. Her teacher was so im- pressed with ner voice that she urged her to come to New York for further study. This Frances did and was well on the way to becoming a singing star when she met Dewey.
