Mr. F. W. A. Carvell was appointed Secretary. Reports submitted show a cunsiderable improvement in the church finances. At the end of the present year the total church debt amounted to $4197,06; atihe end of jast vear, $465,24; or if credit be taken for various balances in favor: f the trust fund:, to only $200.66. The enlargement ana improvement of the echool building, cost~ ing $1371,48 hae all been paid for. | The total amount raised by and in connection with ihe congregation, last year was $5,442 78—a rum which we think reflects bigh credit upon the, clergy church wardens, and cengregation. Tie number of families in the congregation is reported to be 101 ; the number o1 indivi- duals 440. The thanks of the congrega- tion were unanimously voted tothe Church Wardens and Treasurer, (Mr. L. W. Watson) and also to tbe Entertainment Commitee by whom $370.09 were raised to pay tor improvements in the Sctool room. The Secretary was also directed to convey an expression of theeympathy of the congregation with the congregation of Se. James’ Charch iu respect to the destruc- tron of their property by fire.
