OTTAWA (CUP) - The crea- tion of a new national student organization is‘ receiving serious consid- eration from student coun- c: U S TD " HAVE -about the problems of student aid and univer- sity financing. The proposal to form the new national student- cils across the country and may come to fruition _at a conference of stu- dent politicians to be held at the University of windsor some time in May. The decision to hold the conference was made a meeting of student council representatives ,duting the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada's annual meeting in early November. The primary reasons for the May meeting are to talk organization comes from the student council at Quaen's University in Kingston and has already received support from at least one other student at council —- the University of Saskatchewan at Regina. Riley said he hoped any new national student organization would confine its activities to matters "directly related to stu- dents' lives", but added that he didn't know how such an organization could be prevented from taking stands on wider-ranging political issues.
