FAIR MARKET.-There was n fair mnrket in Charlottetown yesterday. Eggs and butter were about the same price as l‘ast_ day, the.former selling at 30.and 32 cents per dozen and the latter at from, 30 to 32 cents per 'pon-nd. Chicken and fowl, were much cheaper than on the last market day, being disposed of at from $1 to $1.56 per pair. There was considerably less beef offered,for sale by the quarter and the price was also much lower, selling at from 8 to 10 cents per pound. By the small heef,srld at thi same price last ‘day from 10 to 15 cents per pound. Hides were bought at ill cents per pound. Hay sold at from 60 to 70 cents per hundred pounds and straw _at from 30 to 35 cents pei' cwt. Oats was the same price as last day, 36 cents per bushel beingiobitalned for white and 38 cents for black. Turnips were sold at 15 cents a iiushel and, potatoes _from 35 to 40 cents per bushel.
