Sir,—I have been greatly impressed by your remarks about the importance of the constant attendance of the medical super- intendest upon curable patients at the Hospital for the Insane, and have m:de some enquiries as a result of which lL learn, with great surprise, that Dr. Blanchard is not a constant atiendant at the hospital, even in the daytime. On some days, I am told (though not by a member of the staff), that the doctor never puts in an appear - ance at all. Perhaps you can say whether or not this is true. Tbe public has these lunatics on its hands, and I agree with you that if they are neglected or kept over- crowded in the hospital building the responsibility Jies, at the last, with the public. Certainly the public ought to look af.er its representatives and officers. I -m greatly surprised at the condact of Mr. Warburton in this matter, for I always thought him aman of kiod heart ani generous impulses. How it is that he is not going on with the Asylum annex is § mystery to me. But I suppose he ‘s hampered by the jealous politicians, Mr. Lowe’s letter, which I have read very care- fully, seema to show that Messrs. Far- quharson and Bell are the blocks in the way. If that should prove to be so, it will be thé worse for them. I am yours, An OBSERVER. _— McNeil - Moore. (see St. Paul’s Church, Boston, was the scene Of a very pretty wedding on Thur-- duy, May 26tb,when Miss Hattie B, Moore, daughter of Mr. J. R. Moore, Charlotre- town, P.E.I., and Mr. Charles H.MecNei', of Bridgeport, Conn., were united in mar- riage. The nuptial knot was tied by tbe Rev. Dr. Lindsay, Rector of St. Paul’s. The bride looked charming in @ travelling costume of heavy browo corded silk, with laveuder and brown trimmings and toque to match. The bridesmaid, Miss Linan Macgregor, daughter of the late Mr, C.V.Macgregor, of Charlottetown, was b-comingly attired in handeome euit of brown corduroy velvet, with large picture hat, and wore n souvenir pin set with pearls, the gift of the bride. Mr. McNeil was attended by Mr. W. W. Moore, O:tawa, brother of the bride. Owing to the recent death of a vear relative of the groom, the wedding was very private, only relations and iotim- ate friends being present. After the cere mony the bridal party drove to the Boston and Albany Depot where the happy couple took the train tor Niagara Falls and other points of interest in the United Siates and Canada.
