The East River Dairying Company was opened yesterday in the presence of Rev. A. J, McDonald, P. P., Thomas A. McLean, Eaq., Ch’town; Thomas J. Dillon, cheese maker, and the President and Directors of the Company and a number of others. There are about ninety patrons in the company. Fifty-seven of them supplied over four thousand pounds of milk yesterday morning; so when the whole patrons will be ready to supply milk the factory should receive over 6,000 ibs. of milk perday. The directors of the company are confident. with the co operation of adjoining factories, that the whole thing will te asuccess, owing to the cheapness of drawing milk to the factory, which only averages 4} cents per hundred pounds this year. This factory was built and equipped with sufficient and efficient machinery in all details in a first-class manner with al! modern improvements, tn the short space of three weeks time, by Thomas A. Mc- Lean, Esq., of Charlottetown, and he is well deserving of the thanks of the ccm: pany for the manuer in which he executed the whole work. { jThe building and machinery cost $1,370 which goes to prove that the directors were very carefulin their mabagement of the stock placed at their disposal by the shareholders, Onw Wuo was Preseyr.
