Minutes were read of last annual meeting and of October meeting, and were approved and signed. The president, Mrs. Harold Laird, in her report. thanked the members for their co-operation and forebearance during the past year. Alberton was withdrawn of manslaughter William Bertie of in the County Magistrate's Court at Sum:-nerslde on Tuesday. with Magistrate R. s. Hinton, K. 0., presiding. This was announced by' Crown Prosecutor Harold Goodwin who advised the court that Mrs. Bartle has been confined to Falconwood Hospital due to her mental con- dition. The charge arose out of a fire at the Bartle home some weeks ago in which her three months old child perished. A coroner's jury later found that death was due to carelessness.-S. IBISIITOWN W. I. IN Magnum I WILLIAM ABTHUI YEO The death occurred at his home in Tyne Valley on Wednesday eve- ning. Nov. End. after a lengthy and trying illness of William Ar- thur Yeo. a highly respected res- ident of that place. He was born at "Green Park". Port Hill. on November 29th, 1865, a son of the late Honorable James Yeo of that place and he passed away just one week short of his eighty-fifth birthday. He was married in 1887 to Miss Jane Howatt of St. Ele- anors and moved to Tyne Valley to engage in farming. and here he made his home for the remainder of his life. From this union were born six children. all of whom survive to cherish the memory and mourn the loss of their be- loved father. They are Katie (Mrs. Burns MscAusland) of Tyne Valley; Sergeant in Charlotte- His wife passed away in 1901 and some years later he married Miss Eva Boates of Tyne Valley. who survives him and who tender- ly and faithfully nursed and cared for him during his last illness. To his second marriage were born five children. Rev. Delmont of Milton. P.E.I.: Lorna (Mrs. Har- old Holland). Bedeque; Vivien (Mrs. John Taylor) of Stewiaclte. N.S.; Dorothy (Mrs. R. C. Hayes) Moncton. N.B.. and Alden at home. all of whom survive. with the exception of his beloved daughter. Vivien. whose death occurred in September of 1949. and his grief for her loss seemed to be a con- tributory cause of his failing health. for it was noticed by those dear to him that a change had taken place. He no longer kept up his cheerful interest in things that were formerly of such importance to him-failing appe- tite. and general debillty brought on other ailments, which con- tinued till the call came which broutht. rest and relief from all era. Herbert of Ottawa. and Col- lingwood of Port Bill; also a number of grandchildren. nieces and nephews. After a brief service at the home, the remains, followed by a lengthy procession of relatives and friends. proceeded to St. James Anglican Church, Port Hill, where an impressive service was con- ducted by his pastor. Rev. Leslie Dignan. who spoke words of com- fort and hope to the bereaved fam- ily. The hymns used during the service were: "A Few More Years Shall Roll"; "Hush. Blessed are the Dead". and a solo by Mr. Roy Phillips. "Still-Still With Thee." Following the service all that was mortal of a devoted husband and father. a kind friend and 5. good neighbor was laid to rest in the church cemetery. The mail- bearers were his neighbors.
