ae eee tee WINTER CARNIVAL UPDATE Well Folks, The winter carnival is just around the corner and I’m busy planning events. The evening activities go as follows: Monday Feb. 17th - ‘‘Karooke Kraze’’ -come sing along to the hits -watch your friends embarrass them- selves -Panther Lounge Tuesday Feb. 18 - ‘‘The Amazing Santini’’ -the top mentalist in Canada -a hilarious 2 hour show -2nd floor barn | Wednesday Feb. 19th - Mike O’Connor in the pub - come listen to traditional Irish music Thursday Feb. 20th -Student Union Main Event -with ‘*the Grunions’’ -Wet/dry -As well, all throughout the week we will be holding the first annual UPEI Snow-Football tournament. We can only accommodate ten teams so if you’ re a mem- ber of asociety, group or even of you have friends, round them up and geta team together. Teams must be of ten players with at least three females per team. The tournament will be sponsored by one of the local breweries so it should be plenty of fun! Register your team by dropping the roster off at the Barn by 4 o’clock in Wednesday the 12th of February. -Also coming up is our Jam-night scheduled for Wednesday Feb 12th on the Panther Lounge. If you are musically inclined and want to sing or play along feel free to drop on around 8:00-8:30 and get ready to party all night. PRESIDENT: The president shall: -Be the chief executive and official spokesperson of the Union - Call meetings of the Executive committee -Draftand | propose a schedule of proposed council meeting dates | and general meeting dates. -Be amember of Senate- | Perform such other duties as required -This is a full- | time summer job to prepare for the following aca- | demic year. VICE-PRESIDENT EXTERNAL: The VP External shall: -Assume the duties and responsibilities of the President in the President’s absence or incapacity - Perform such research activities as may be assigned or required by the Union on behalf if it’s students - Actasa liaison between the Union and all groups outside the University -Be a member of Senate - : Perform such other duties as required -Be responsible | for Canadian Federation of Students on campus.
