Galbrairh`s baud furnished some excellent. music and despite the bad roads the affair was ,fairly successful. The judges of the ‘costumes were Mrs. Percy Pope and Mr. W. H. Stewart and the prizes were awarded to Miss Mary Haszard, re-- presenting ‘-Penny Postage" as being the most original costumed lady; and Mr. Walter McLean, dressed as “Ivanhoe " as having the most original genls’ costume. It started on the pre- vious eveoing and snowed and drifted all day until about 5 o’clock when. the weather cleared and the evening was clear and cold. Tiadic on the railway was somewhat interrupted. The train at Tignish did not leave; the morning train from Suminerside arrived here one hour late and did not ieturn. The Georgetown train was the ‘ only one that arrived in this city on time but she did not return. The train from Souris arrived in Charlottetown at 1.10 p.m.»,nd remained here. The special from Cape Traverse arrived at 3 30 p. m. and left again on return at 8 o’clock last ecening with the mails. The cause of delay in each casa was due to the trains not starting on time on account of the storm.
