E. Island for their grand Annual Scottish Gathering, to be held in Charlottetown, in honor of the Vice-Regal visit, on the 15th day ot August next. They contemplate erecting, at the entrance to their grounds, a grand arch on a magnificent scale. Evrore’s Next War.—The Pali Mall Cazette saya that the continued concentration wf large bodies of troops in the Nerth of Italy, and especially towards the Austrian frontier, is beginning te be viewed with some suspicion in Austria, and to be mich commented upon by the Austrign newspapers. The C/azette hints at the probability of a war between Italy and Austria bat believes that, unless aided by allies, the Italian’ army would be altogether unable to cope with that of Austria. Sroten.—On the night of Jaly 28th, two boats, belonging to John A. McLeod, Kensington, were stolen from New London Harbor by two men named Wallace McKay aud Robert McKay. ‘The boats were built in 1878, are 23 feet keel, top painted blue, cop- per painted bottom, rigged with a mainsail and foresail. The men are twin brothers, re- markably alike, about six feet in height, dark hair and complexion, cleanly shaven and rough looking characters generally. Any information which would lead to their detection, or to tlie discovery of the boats would be thankfully re- ceived by the owner. Tur Methodist Sabbath-school pic-nic at Shaw’s Wharf. to which we referred yesterday, was a grand success. Over one thousand children and yisiters were nt. The day was all that could be desired, and the proceed- ing passed off pleasantly and harmoniously. The officers avd teachers of the school deserve great credit for the manner in which they car- ried out all arrangements for the amusement of the party.
