Win By CHRIS ANNETT Well the Habs are back on top and gobody eae accuse them of going about it the easy way. ‘They dropped the Hawks in one of those big four-point games and then seraped out a win, over the stubborn Bruins in.their second game of the weekend. ‘Much has been said about the glorious conglomeration of athletes from Chicago but in my mind they are not a true pro- fessional team and don’t deserve to win any championship. - Fighting words eh? I can see it all now, loyal Chicago fans over the Island ‘wit their dandruff up. but there are a few obscure facts to consider. - Let's start, with Bobby Hull, supposedly the Hawks pillar of _ etrength. Sure Hull got four goals last aight and sure he stands @tyou chaice to break the 530 mark but that doesn't -help the élub to-win the. championship unless he.sturts to score goals in key games. Hi:ll looked jike a rut of the mill hockey player in the game against the Habs Saturday and that’s just how he looks in most of the key games. Granted the Hawks have come up with two wins against the Habs this season but they also-have lost the big ones. In the last match the Habs outplayed the Tribe but lost due to the fantastic goaltending of Glen Hall Hull didn't ‘show! In the 49 year history of the NHL the Hawks have yet to win the Prince of Wales trophy, awarded to the first place finisher and this despite the fact that they have had one of the best stocked rosters in te league. Hall, Wharram, Hull, Mikita, Pilote all are at the top of their respective _ positions. Most people admit that the Hawks have the best play ers but the best team?
