WEST EXPERIENCES EARTHQUAKE ROCK-A friend is in receipt of a letter from Mr. G. W. West, oi Innisiail, who was in San Diego at the time oi the re- cent earthqualre in Southern Cali- fornia. On the day of the quake about 5,55 p. m. he was sitting in his apartment in San D1980 reading. when, without the slightest vam- ing, the standing electric lamp be- side his chair fell over on him. He got up quickly but was dizzy and at first his feet and legs appeared to refuse to act. Finally he got out- side to find the street filled with people. He then realized that it. was an earthquake.
