Stretch. representing the gentlemen present, who presented Mr. Shaw with a very nicely finished set of field glasses. The latter ack- nowledged in very fine terms. of ap- preciation. the kind sentiments con- veyed in both addresses. and the gifts presented. and expressed the deep re- gret of the whole family on the nec- essity of leaving a community where so many fine associations had been established. The remainder of the evening was spent in those modes of entertain- ment whichsntisfy and please both old and young. The entertainment‘ was brought to a close with best wishes for the future happiness and prosperity of the Shaw family. and the sincerely expressed hope that some day they might wander buck again to the old home on the hillside.
