The highest prices for wool vverc recelved -about the -time ol' shear- ing. but thi.-se prices did not ‘hold long, anil buying at the high price stopped before our wool was grail- cd. The Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers who -market the wool for our Association and other Associa- tions througliou-t. -the dlominlon were therefore obliged to hold the wool for some conelilerirlile tlluc which resulted -in sales nt it higher price than if the wool hail been offered immediately after grading was completed. With regard to the handling ol wool by the Canadian Cooperative Wool Growers and to their opinion for -the outlook ol’ thc hlturi=i,- wi- will quote the following pnriigrnpll from a letter received recently from the Manu-ger: “Referring to the quality of wool handled, we -find that uniformly from ull parts of Canada, wc have had an increase ln the number of shippers and that if tho nvcrngo individual shipment from each oi” our shippers in 1923 had been as llarge as in -tho years previous to 1922. we would have handled our ‘usual quauti-ty of wool. We ilnd that throughout our list of ship- pers there has been a decided di-- crcase in the average .indlviilual shipment ot wool, plainly showing smaller farm flocks shorn in 1923.
