After being brought to the shore, Mrs. Higgins collapsed The mother and daughter had been enjoying the water for some time and started wading towards the shore. ‘Ihc waves, which were ex- ceptionally heavy broke over them, the undertow finally carrying them of! their feet and carried them out in the deep water, away beyond their depth. Miss Higgins cries were heard on shore, and Mr. Alex Kerr, of the staff of Canadian Bank of Com- merce, Charlottetown, hurried to her assistance, taking her in, not much the worse. Mr. Vaughan Groom, of Summerside, rushed to the assist- ance of the girl's mother, who was about exhausted, bringing her in out of the deep water.
