MEETING-The reg- ular weekly meeting of St. Paul's A.Y.P.A. was held in the parish hall Wednesday night. At the business ' meeting it was decided that a delegation be sent to the A.Y.P.A. diocesan conference in Halifax this week-end. Followlnz the business Bill Ives slides taken during his trip to England. This was followed by 'n sing-song and square dancing led by Dr. F. W. Jelks. The meeting closed with Auld Lang Sync and the Grace. HEAR REV. regular weekly meeting or the centennial Y's Men's Club was held last night in the Y.M.C.A. Thirty six members were present. with Bob Cissy End Bob Acorn so co-chairmen. The sing song was led by Lorlmer ciudmore with Bob Crooks at the piano. The members heard a most interesting talk by Cpl. Lionel Strong of the R.C.M.P. on his trip to the Coronation. Clarence Mercer was a. guest from the summersida Y's Men's Club. The meeting closed with the Queen. CAR COLLISION--As in result of a collision involving three cars on Hiilsboro Street yesterday eve- ning. the driver of a 1942 Dodge will appear in Police Court this morning, charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The Dodge car was proceeding south on Iiillsboro St. when it collided with a 1937 Oldsmobile going north. The latter car which is reported to have had its brak- ing mechanism damaged by the impact. was drivcr 72 feet back- wards nnly to collide with a third rar parked at the curb. Damage to the front of the two first cars was quite heavy; the parked vehicle suffered a broken grill. FIRST AID CLASSES-The Wo- men's Institute of Parkdale will sponsor a First Aid Red Cross school of instruction over a period of nine weeks with meetings once a week during that time. The de- cision to arrange for the classes in-as reached at a meeting in Park- dale school last evening with 22 members of the organization in at- tendance under the chairmanship of Mrs. Leo Mclaaac. CHARLOTTETOWN E3335 Augustine Cove f Camp Committee Annual Meeting at the annual meeting of the man- agement committee of the Augus- tine Cove camp held recently in Charlottetown. Splendid lo-day camps were held in July and August. for girls of 12-18 years; for boys of the same ages; week-end camps for young people; and most successful ven- ture, a five-day camp for Junior boys of 9-11 years. Before the camping season open- ed the Provincial Department of Health and Welfare pronounced that the drinking water at camp was good, well-balanced and well- prepared meals were provided. and only pasteurized milk was used. . When Augustine Cove camp was established in 1946 a large dining - hall with attached kitchen and three cabins were built. A com- bination canteen and cottage was added later, since that time two more cabins were erected, and some tents used each year to house large camps.
