The UPEI Business Society is composed of students and faculty members of the Department of Business Administration. Tickets are $15.00 for the general public and $7.00 for students. They are available from members of the Society. I Mr. Peckford, termed the ’fTough man on the rock" by the Financial Post, will speak on New- foundland’s Role within the Canadian Confedera- tion. The talk will be given in the Duffy Amphitheatre at 8:00 p.m.' followed by a Wine and Cheese party given in the Dining Hall. Born in Moncton in 1926, Mr. Creed was brought up in Bridgetown, P.E.l. He attended Memorial University of Newfoundland, and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. A high school English teacher, Mr. Peckford was first elected to the House of Assembly in March 1972 for the district of Green Bay, and in 1973 he was appointed special assistant to Premier Frank Moores. In 1974 he was appointed Minister of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing. In 1975 he was re-elected‘and in 1976 he was appointed Minister of Mines and Energy. He then served as Minister of Rural Development (1978). He was chosen to succeed Frank Moores as Premier at a leadership convention in March, 1979. In the June,_1979 General Election he was returned to office. College he attended Macdonald College from ‘which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. He joined the CBC in Halifax in 19.49 as assistant farm and fisheries ‘ commentator. He joined CBC—TV in Toronto in 1954 where he has since created national programs such as Country Calendar, This Land and the controversial documentary Air of Death .
