charge of the family, but by prudence and
ndustry she managed well. Three of
her sons died in early manhood, so that

regions of immortality. The deceased
lady was a member of the Presbyterian
Church of Peter's Road, and her pastor
Rev. John Gillis of Murray Harbor North,
after preaching an affectionate funeral
service paid a high tribute to the memory

filled every available seat in the Opera
House last evening enjoyed a genuine
treat in the presentation of the Merchant
of Venice by the Lyceum Company. It is
rarel indeed that the masterpieces of the
Engliiih drama are offered to a Charlotte-
tow,n'Laudience, and still more rarely that
so Excellent au interpretation is given.
This is the more regrettable asagoodly
number of our citizens very heartily enjoy
and appreciate a Shakespearian play.
_The Lyceum ` Company is evidently a
strong, well balanced company
of capable artists, whose work last even-
