Bingo and other games w I t h appropriate prises. iireen-MaoEwen Nuptials It was a lovely day, clear and sunny, snd in the air a tang of crispness — the first aloof fresh- ness of approaching winter. Such Wednesday, November 9, 1949, when Janie Margaret, only daughter of H. S. and Mrs. Mac- Ewen, of Stanley Bridge, became the bride of Robert Roy Green of Little Current, Ontario. The cere- mony took place at the home of the bride's parents and was per- formed by the Rev. A. D. Msc- Leod, grand-uncle otf the bride, and assisted by the Rev. George Gough of Cavendish, P. E. I. Dressed in flowing white satin with a floor-length veil of dell- cste "tulle illusion" and carrying s bouquet of red roses, Janie en- tered on the srm of her father. Lohentgrinu wedding march was expressed beautifully by the plen- lst, Mrs. Lorne MacEwen. The bridesmaid, Miss Joy Mac- Leod of Charlottetown, was charm- ing in s gown of blue tatfeis with shoulder-length veil end matching gloves. She carried s bouquet of pink roses. The groomsmsn was Mr. Buddy MacEwen, brother of the bride. The bride's mother was very attractively dressed in grey crepe and wore a corsege of pink roses. . Following the ceremony the bri- dal couple retired to sign the register snd Mr. Eric MaeGregor of Charlottetown sang "I'll Walk Beside You." A buffet lunch was served to over eighty guests. The bridal table, tastefully decorated, was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake which was cut in the traditional manner. Mrs. Emma MscEwen and Mrs. Cyril MaeGregor presided st the tea table with many other friends and relatives of the bride assisting in serving. Rev. Mr. Gough pro- posed the toast to the bride with the groom making an appropriate response. For travelling the bride wore s winter white hat and coat over a dress of wine crepe. The groom's gifts to the bridesmaid and pian- ist consisted of ear rings of sapphire and amethyst drops snd to the groomsman snd vocalist, gold pen knives on chains. Mr. snd Mrs. Green will make their home in Northern Ontario and will carry with thorn the blessings and sincere good wishes of their many friends on Prince Edward Island. An interesting feature of the wedding above reported was that Mr. and Mrs. MscEwen, the bride's parents, were married the some date and day of November ln 1921. Twenty-eight years later. Mrs..MacEwen's uncle, now 87 years old, came from his home in Saint John, N. 8., to marry their daughter, Janie. IN MEMORIAM In loving memo y of Spr. G. Garfield MsoLeod killed in notion Nov. 28rd.
