Alber- ton, on Tuesday morning. Sept. 21st, and was largely attended. Dennis Bernard, six year old son of Mr, and Mrs. Joseph E. Bernard, Nail Pond. was seriously injured on Thursday evening, September 23rd, when he along with his bro- thers and sisters were playing in the yard at their home, a horse in the next field became startled when s large truck came to e stop on the road and dashing in the direction of the clrllcircn, he turned out of the path of the others but little Denny a little farther on was knocked to the ground and rendered unconscious. Medical aid was summoned at once and the little fellow was removed to Western Hospital. Alberton, where he was still reported uncon- scious on ‘Sunday evening. The parents are remaining at. his bed- side end friends join in their wishes and hopes for his complete recovery to health. —Mrs. Irene Arsenault having disposed of her property in Tig- nish has gone to California where she plans to make her home in the future. Her many Tignish friends regret her leaving but their good wishes follow her for health and happiness in her California, home, Mrs. Arsenault was a member of the Tlgnish Catholic Womcns’ League, sub- division. and a few evenings prior to her departrre she was guest of honor at. a surprise party held at the home of Mrs. Joseph T. Arsen- art had come from Rothsay, Scot- land to settle in Malpcquc. In his early manhood, the de- ceased, during the ministry of Rev. Robert Laird, became e. mem- ber of the Presbyterian Church It. Malpegue. Throughout. his long life he remained true to his principles living a life of sobriety, gentleness and integrity, After attending Malpeque Gram- mar School and the Normal Train- ing School in Charlottetown, he taught. school for several years in Prince County. He later moved to Sherbrooke, Quebec, where he lived tor forty years. before re- turnning to spend his declining yeers at his old home in Hamilton. Retaining unimpaired eyesight and hearing until the last, he spent many pleasant hours among his books. Besides hie niece, Miss Elma.
