Nov. 12-(Routers) - sir Cecil Weir, chairman of the British Douar Exports Board. has -announced that United Kingdom restrictions on dollar trade with Canada might be further eased. "some of these relaxations have already been made." he told Reut- ers in an interview. "But it is the hope of my Board that seine esse- ments over a wider field may now be justified.” Sir Cecil Weir was commenting on a speech in Ottawa yesterday by Trade Minister C. D. Howe of Canada in which be criticized Britain's restrictions on dollar trade and urged increased British purchases in Canada. "My present opinion." Sir Cecil continued, "is that we can afford to take a few risks as an encour- agement to. and an earnest in- dlcation of. our aim. "That aim is to develop trade between Britain and Canada, not merely on the basis of balancing accounts. but to do so at the high-. est possible level of two-way trade."
