According to a cors reepondent of the Guardien, while tbe child was plaving in the yard the dog, which is a very large animal, attacked her fiercely inflicting deep wounds on the face. The eldest sister Minnie ran ims mediately tothe rescue, and succeeded in getting the little one disengaged trom her maddened foe. But again the dog grabbed the child and was deliberately proceeding with the work of deatn when the sister again clutched he precious ebarge and ran tothe nearest building. By this ume the fa her arrived and captur- ed the brute which he immediately killed. Serious wounds were found on the child’s face and forehead.
