Follow- ing the repeating of tho Purpoae and the singing of the C.G.I.T. Hymn. the minutes were read and approved. Many new girls added much to the growth and develop- ment of this group. After several lively games. the girls were led in a round of singing by Mrs. Suther- land. Lunch. iollowed by tape. brought to a close a very success- ful meeting. The C.G.l.T. of Zion Church in Charlottetown met on November 9 in the Ladies Parlour. The Wor- ship service was led by Arline Lar- ter and the theme was entitled ”Hold High the Torch." During the business period. the officers for lhe ensuing year were elected: President. Sandra Suth- erland; vice-president, M A inrie Balderslont Secretary, Gall Cur- rie; Treasurer. Margaret Dawn Iiiulheson. After a lively sing song, the girls joined hands and sang taps. On Nov. l6th. the C.G.l.T. held its regular weekly meeting. The president. Sandra Sutherlan. had charge of the Devotional Period. She also presided over the busi- ness period. it was decided to be- gin our Handicraft the next night oi meeting. The girls then adjourned to the lower hall for games. The meet- ing closed by the singing of the first verse of "Now the Day it Over" and Taps. Luke Verde W. I. Hold Annual Meeting The Annual meeting of the Lake Verde Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Owcn Callaghan on Wednesday night. November 14, 1956. Mrs. Michael Dalton occupied the chair and opened the meeting in the usual manner. Eight members were pre lent. The minutes of the last meet- ing and the previous annual meet- ing were read by the Secretary. giembership dues were paid also . W. I. C. dues. The financial report was read by the Treasurer, Mrs. Ivan Redmond. Bills amounting to 33.00 were presented and paid. Mrs. In Red- mond and Mrs. Raymond Wood were appointed on the sick com- mittee. The members decided to start the card parties. the first to be held at the home of Mrs. Harry Kelly. Nov. 19, 1956. The election oi officers for the Gluing year then took place and are as follows: President - Mra. Barry Kelly; vice - president - Iirs. Francis Kelly: secretary - Mn.
