Sr. Joux, Aug. 24.—The report on the State of the denomination showed that the number of churcbes reported last year as belonging to the eight associations was 405. [tis now 414. The total m:m bership last year was 483,330. It is this yeur 50,421, an increase of 2,611. The num- ber of add:tions by baptism was 2,351, which was considerabiy less than last year’s. Eight new houses of worship have been built, and otners are in course of erection, The amounts expended for church sup- port was, for Nova Scotia $81,825.38, tor New Brunswick $64,655.91, and for P. E. I. $8,413. ‘The amounts coutributed to denomina- tional work were: For Nova Scotia, $11,- } 937.34; for New Brunswick, $4,575.69 and for P. K. Island $561.00. The numberorS 8S scholars in Nova Scotia is 17,119 in 306 schools; average attendance 11,858; number of teachers 1.918; adults enrolled 4,148; and number baptized 823. In New Brunswick there were 154 school-; 10,425 scholars; average attend- ance 7,318; namber of teachers 1,126; adults enrolled 2,922; and number baptiz ed 253. P. E. Island has 30 schools, 1130 scholars, average attendance 736, numl«r of teachers 148, adults enrolled 312, and number baptized during the year 40.
