Cle- ments, Trustees. -MARGATE.-A large and repre- sentative meeting was held in the hall at Margate on Monday evening, April 21st., to hear Prof. Reid lec- ture on soil, fertility and the Dairy Co_w. His remarks were listened to with keen interest, and it is the wish of the farmers here, that they may have the pleasure of hearing Mr. Reid; at some fixture date. At the same meeting the views of the people were hcnrd on the working of the Auto Act question, it being brought up by the chairman. Mr. T. Glyden giving his views on the matter, Mr. John A. Marks and others spoke strongly against the repealing of the act. After some furthei discussion a vote was taken. which was unani- mous in protesting against any change being made in the said act. of 1907. A committee was tbcn appoint- ed, consisting of Messrs F. Glyden, John Marks and H. D. Lang, Jr., of North Tonawanda, who was taken in February to Pasa- dena, California, sidering from pul- monary tuberculosis in an advanced stage, has returned apparently cured by the Frledmann treatment. When he left he was so weak could hardly walk, and Dr. C. T. Crance, who at- tended him, said there was little hope for him. Dr. Crance obtained from Dr. Friedmann, however, snnlcient vac- cine to treat three patients and se- lected Lang as one of the patients. Lang had just suffered two liemorh- ages, and was very weak. In a few days he had gained two pounds. An- other injectlon was given, and later a third.
