Welcome, pawns, to an- other edition of the UPEI PUN (Pawn's Union Newspaper). To those few native students out there who still think that they are in— dependant, I bring correction, from the mouths of. the Infamous Four. As you may or may not know, the parting shot of the PPAG(the President's Planning Advisory Group, of a certain Report fame) was delivered to a Rotary gathering on Monday, November I, and reported in the next day's Guardian. The Four Lads uttered the rather amazing and quite insulting assert- ion that the students had been "pawns" of certain nefarious (pro— fessors, probably) politicking. ‘ ' Dear Editor: Being one of the ap- parently small minority never to have been a STAR WARS fan, I may not fully appreciate the cleverness of your Rookie and his column. However, one need not view TV or attend the movies to know when the pursuit of cleverness trans-gresses the line between humour and good taste. The manner of the Rookie's introduction of the issue of the two .5 parent institution of UPEI into the present controversy does just that. Surely good taste dictates that this particular scar tissue remain undisturbed. , It could lead to attacking people because they came from the U of T., or. Nebraska. V I view this aspect of the Rookie's offerings as an obsenity lacking in the carefree innocense of our engineering students' . I contributions. Bruyere said that "life is a' tragedy for those (who feel and a comedy for those w who think". Reading the SUN'S coverage of the current upsetment, I am, as the old song title goes ,laughing with tears tome, now. When I re—‘ port and drew some was my own doing. Wrong! It was those \ mad doctors with their magic mind-control dé vices, reaching into my head and changing my opinions against my will! If you believe that, I've got some lovely bridges in New York you might be in- terested in, too. C'm‘on, PPAG—give the students the same rud- imentary credit for making up their own opinions as the stud ents extended to you. WE are quite sure that you wrote the Report a sound? 1T1 900d faith- Yes, the student would. We have our very own We did. initiative, hopes , aspirations , and ammems in my eyes. Dear Editor: I would like to congratulate you and your your staff on the fine job you are doing ’ this year. This years paper is a marked improvement over other years. I eSpecially enjoy your excellent graphics and would like to see more of then in the future. I realize that it is not possible to please everybody . but you seen to have reached a happy medium.
