      The
      debating
      society
      here
      on
      campus
      has
      held
      its
      first
      two
     
     
      meetings
      and
      already
      we
      have
      had
      a
      couple
      of
      great
      debates.
     
     
      One
      of
      these
      started
      off
      with
      a
      resolution
      that
      ‘‘This
      is
      the
     
     
      first
      day
      of
      the
      rest
      of
      your
      life.’’
      The
      ‘‘government’’
      side
     
     
      decided
      this
      meant
      that
      only
      women
      should
      be
      allowed
      to
     
     
      vote
      in
      all
      Canadian
      elections
      --
      and
      the
      argument
      was
      on.
     
     
      Another
      resolution,
      ‘‘Do
      unto
      others,’’
      was
      translated
      into
      a
     
     
      discussion
      about
      whether
      or
      not
      there
      should
      be
      a
      set
      number
     
     
      of
      ‘‘female’’
      seats
      in
      the
      revised
      Canadian

      As

      the
      topics
      that
      are
      debated
      are
      ones
      that
     
     
      anyone
