In his last illness Maurice was attended by his physician, Dr. MacLellan, and spiritual comfort was render- ed by his pastor, Rev. Charles Gallant and by Rev. Joseph Mac- Lead. Born in Rustlco some 75 years ago, Maurice was soon to ac- company his family and the sev- eral other families from that area, who were to pioneer and build the section Of'- St. Charles which was formerly known as New Acadia. In his passing we mourn the further loss from the ranks of those who labored so industriously in their own inter— ests and in those of the genera- tion to follow. Pall bear- ers were Earl Clements, Eugene Gallant, George Doucet, Alexis Gallant, Benedict Doucet and Russell Peters. He leaves to mourn besides his son-owing wife, three daughters: Georgina, Mrs. Fred LaPoinIe, Old Orchard, Maine; Helena, Mrs. Oscar Hatch, Henniker, N. 11.; Genevieve, Mrs. Jerry Pin- eau, Montague; three sons at home, Cornelius. Arthur and Harold; Elmer and Albert of St. Charles; and Robert of Winni- peg. He is survived also by one sister, Mrs. Frank Gallant of Souris. He was predeceased by one daughter.
