She was the last of the thirteen children of the late John and Mary (McPhee) Campbell. of Lit- tle Harbour, Souris East. Although she left her island home for Gloucester in 1887. she carried on an extensive corre- spondence with her relatives and friends here. and made frequent visits to the Island. She resided in Gloucester with her brother. the late Capt. John Campbell. a leading skipper in the fishing fleet. Miss Campbell was a machine stitcher in dress-making manu- fracturing. and later developed a business of her own in drapery and seat cover production. She was fond of music and played and taught the violin. She had been active in the Scot- tish Clans, and was a member of the Massachusetts Catholic Order of Foresters. a past officer of the Legion of Mary. is member of St. Ann's Catholic Women's Club. an honorary member of the Ladica' Auxiliary of the Master Mariners' Association. and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
