The death occurrediat Point Prim on the morning of fide 17th inst. of Donald Gillis, fornierly lighthouse keeper of that place. Deceased up to about a year ago had been a very healthy man, Last May he under- went a very serious operation at the P. E. I. The boy went into the stable to water the horse and in some man- ner fell under the aiiimal's feet. The horse became alarmed and in his fright trampled on 'the lad injuring him severely about the head and body. When picked up young Aitken was unconscious and it was not un- til a few days ago that he regained consciousness and the doctors were able to say that there was a pros- pect of recovery.-Exe. -A distressing automobile accident occurred at Wesco, Cal., thirty miles west of Bakersfield, on December 21st, which resulted a few days later in the death of John Lacey, a highly respected resident of the latter city.
