Stat- ion Manager Mike Hennessey and Station Engineer Kenny Adams felt that an insuffi- cient amount was allocated by Council towards operating ex— penditures. Eventually a mo- tion to pass the budgeted figure of $1000 was defeated 6—6 (ties are lost) and the disputed part of the budget was tabled until Mr. Hennes— sey submits a more detailed budget to the Finance Com— mittee for re—consideration. The following are the two budgets which were passed. The disputed part of the CIMN budget iswmarked with an ast— erick. - Cadre Budget The original requested am- ount by the Members of the Cadre totaled $8,055.00. EHQNGE The Cadre, Oct. 21, 1975, Page 3 unneLBudgets Since the Finance Commit— tee allocated $5,000 Student Union funds towards the Cadre, this leaves it with a poten— tial surplus of $1,310.00- The cost of moving the Cadre to forth floor Main is not included in this budget as there are presently no forcasted figures for the move. The Finance Committee feels that any cost incurred in this move shall not be ap- plied to this budget as a7 separate cost projection will be made later. CIMN Budget, The original requested am— ount by CIMN Radio total $7,140.00 After reviewing the budget request the Finance Committee came up with the following figures for Council to approve. Cart Machine Assorted office Sup- plies Salaries, Honorariums,$1,400 Parties, and Conference $1,485 $1,000* Replacement Heads $ _200. Telephone $ 200 Pre—Amp $ 110 Power Splitter $ 185 TOTAL $4,530 The Finance Committee feels that the potential in— come for the Radio Station being $3,000 that the CIMN should be given towards the above costs and that $3,500 potential advertising revenue be given them making their total potential surplus $1,970. The Finance Committee felt I that a Broadcast News System which was requested by CIMN radio was not a justified ex— penditures and should not be pyrchased as the cost would be about $2,000 per year. N.B. The monies mentioned in the above budgets will not be spent for any purpose other than the ones cited. menu II BE m onoume...? 'm' LEHSI' HE’S £04815!th
