THE WINTERISERVICB-
With the new winter steamer
llinto it is hoped that the direct ser-
vice between Charlottethwn and Pic-
tou may bs kept up later in the win-
ter season and resumed earlier in the
spring than has been practicable with
the Stanley in recent years. It is al
so to be hoped that when the Minto i
transferred to the Georgetown route
the service to and from that port may
_be more regular and constant than in
the past. ~
In the meantime the people of
_Summsrside and the western part of
the Island generally are earnest]
desirous that the Stanley shall be put
on the route between that port land
