Bay« Srock.—Several shares in the stock of the Bank of Prince Edward Island were sold at auction by the Deputy Sheriff this forenoon. The price they realzied was $145 each, or 45 per cent. premium. This is, we believe, the highest price obtained for bank stock within a ycar; and the fact shews that the ‘‘old bank” retains, in a large measure, the confidence of the people. A Barwutayt Mergor.—On Monday even- ing, the L6th inst., about five minutes before eight o'clock, a brilliant meteor was seen over this city, bearing east-north-east, at an altitude of about thirty degrees. When first seen it was in right ascension, twelve hours and twenty-one minutes— Polar distance forty two devgrees,—moviny twards right ascension fourteen hours and forty-two minutes—Polar distance tw -utv-eight degrees—where it. ex- pleded anc! lisappeared.
